Meet Our Veterinarian
I believe that everyday, I can use my strengths as a veterinarian to educate clients about their pet’s medical needs and help them to choose and then provide, without prejudice, the best care they can for their pets.
Dr. Christy Fields grew up in Toledo, Ohio and came to Iowa to attend veterinary school at Iowa State University. She graduated from veterinary school in 2004. After graduating, Dr. Fields worked for 2 years at a mixed animal practice in Pella, Iowa, before transferring to a small animal hospital in Davenport, Iowa, where she was the managing DVM at that hospital for almost 12 years. Her interests include small animal soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Fields and her family moved to Paton, Iowa, in 2018. Her husband (Bill) and 3 kids (Lane, Calvin, Emma) love camping and trail riding. On their farm, in addition to dogs and cats, they have horses, cattle, pigs, and chickens.

Shannon and her husband moved to Jefferson from Yale where she had previously worked at a grooming/boarding facility. Shannon has two dogs named Cooper and Grizz and a cat named Pouncer at home.

Katie has over 10 years experience working in the veterinary field. She lives in Jefferson with her husband Justin. They have a cat named Binx and dog named Kiya.

Riley
Riley was born and raised in Lake City and currently living in Auburn. She recently graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with her veterinarian technician degree and grooming certificate. She also has her dog training certificate from Animal Behavioral College.
Our Veterinary Assistants:
